A Remarkable History

Project C.U.R.E. Founder James Jackson was working as an international economic consultant with heads of governments in developing nations around the globe when his work led him face to face with the needs of the sick and dying. During a trip to Brazil in 1987, Jackson observed long lines of sick people waiting to enter a small clinic. Once inside, he learned that children, parents and grandparents were often turned away due to the lack of basic medical supplies and equipment. Jackson was moved to action. He made a promise to the doctor of that small clinic that he would use the tools of commerce and surplus wealth to help provide relief to those people.

Returning to his home in Evergreen, Colorado, James Jackson collected approximately $250,000 worth of donated, surplus medical supplies in his garage in just one month's time. Paying for shipping costs out of his own pocket, Jackson was able to send an ocean-going cargo container to Brazil. Since that first shipment in 1987, Project C.U.R.E. has grown exponentially, reaching to every corner of the globe. Currently, Project C.U.R.E. operates a 60,000 square foot warehouse in Centennial, Colorado.

Excitement about Project C.U.R.E. spread to other cities as well. On a speaking trip in Phoenix, Jackson shared his vision with some friends. They accepted the challenge he set forth, located donated space and began collecting supplies and equipment. In 1999, Project C.U.R.E. began in Nashville, Tennessee. With most of the national hospital companies headquartered in Nashville, this location is very significant in the efforts to “Deliver Health and Hope to the World.” Project C.U.R.E. opened operations in Houston in May 2002. In the past few years, Project C.U.R.E. has added collection centers in Albuquerque, N.M.; Austin, Texas; Lexington, Ky.; Harrisburg, Pa.

Today, Project C.U.R.E. is run by Founder James Jackson's son, Dr. Douglas Jackson. In the past ten years, the Jackson family, along with a small staff and an army of volunteers has expanded their reach to every corner of the globe. Project C.U.R.E. has worked in over 120 countries and has touched the lives of thousands. With the help of many that have the same passion and commitment to helping those around the world, Project C.U.R.E. continues to

Deliver Health and Hope to the world!
