INVITATION
Project C.U.R.E. begins each project at the invitation of a potential recipient
or sponsor organization. The process begins by filing an
Application for Assistance
with the Project C.U.R.E. International Headquarters Office.
NEEDS ASSESSMENT
Before delivering medical relief, Project C.U.R.E. requires an in-depth, on-sight
Needs Assessment study of the recipient organization, hospital or clinic by a
representative of Project C.U.R.E.
The Needs Assessment study includes meetings with hospital personnel and a site
visit to each location requesting assistance. Project C.U.R.E. performs a thorough
written analysis and compiles photo documentation detailing the ailments facing the
region, the current level of treatment provided by the existing hospitals or clinics,
and the expertise of healthcare professionals in the area.
In addition, Project C.U.R.E. meets with the appropriate governmental officials to
secure a waiver of tariffs and duty and a guaranty of safe and timely delivery of the
medical donations. All governmental arrangements for international customs clearance
must be made during the Needs Assessment. If the government of the recipient country
fails or refuses to provide the requested guaranties, Project C.U.R.E. will not proceed.
INVENTORY LIST
Following the Needs Assessment study, Project C.U.R.E. compiles an inventory list of
available medical supplies and equipment from our extensive inventory in the collection
centers in the U.S. and the U.K. The inventory list is then forwarded to the Project
Partner for final approval prior to shipment.
Equipment is thoroughly checked and tested by technicians. Volunteers inventory,
organize, package and prepare the medical relief for overseas transport.
LOADING AND TRANSPORT
Generally, Project C.U.R.E. delivers medical relief in 40-foot ocean-going cargo
containers. When necessary approvals of the inventory are received by Project C.U.R.E.,
the cargo container is loaded and transported to a port city and stacked aboard an ocean-going
ship. In rare circumstances, these large donations may arrive by air cargo.
DELIVERY AND DOCUMENTATION
Upon arrival, the Project Partner documents the delivery and forwards the required
information to the Project C.U.R.E. International Headquarters Office. A representative
from Project C.U.R.E. will begin a follow-up process with the recipient organization
including photographic and written reports and on-sight project assessments. Future
shipments are scheduled and inventory is prepared based on the successful implementation
of previous projects.
