W. Douglas Jackson, JD, PhD - President/CEO
Dr. Douglas Jackson currently serves as the President of Project C.U.R.E., a registered trademark of the Benevolent Healthcare Foundation. Each year, Project C.U.R.E. ships millions of dollars of donated medical relief into developing nations around the world. Since 1987, Project C.U.R.E. has delivered equipment and supplies to incredibly needy people in more than 108 countries.
Prior to accepting his current position at Project C.U.R.E., Dr. Jackson was Provost for Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, Colorado. In this capacity, he oversaw the academic, financial, operational, advancement and student life functions of the university.
Previously, Douglas was the Director of the Fermanian Business Center at Point Loma University in San Diego, California. As Director, Douglas developed and implemented numerous programs and seminars to advance the business opportunities for college students and business professionals in the San Diego community and abroad. Described as innovative and creative, these programs received national recognition and funding from such organizations as the America's Cup, AT&T, Pacific Bell and others.
Douglas Jackson graduated magna cum laude from Northwest Nazarene University in 1982, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. In 1985, he earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado at Boulder, receiving the American Jurisprudence Award for Excellence in the study of law. Following his admission to practice as an attorney, Douglas administered the legal affairs for the international agricultural firm of CTB, Inc., a Birkshire Hathaway company in Milford, Indiana. In 1992, he was awarded a Ph.D. in Business Administration with an emphasis in finance and econometrics from the University of Colorado at Boulder, authoring a dissertation on leveraged buyouts and secondary public offerings. Douglas is a member of the Alpha Delta Sigma and the Beta Gamma Sigma national honor societies.
In addition to his academic credentials, Dr. Jackson has experience in both the legal and business professions, working as a law clerk in Denver, a judge's clerk in Boise, Idaho, a Deputy Clerk of the District Court and an assistant to the County Court Administrator in Jefferson County, Colorado. He has researched, authored articles and consulted in the areas of finance, real estate and small business. For nearly 15 years, Dr. Jackson taught at the university level in the disciplines of finance, investments and legal issues.
Dr. Jackson is a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow and current President of the Denver Rotary Club #31. He serves as an Elder of Cherry Hills Community Church (EPC), is a Director of the Institute for International Education which administers the Fulbright Scholarships and a director of Denver based Leader’s Challenge. He is a member of the National Who’s Who, Registry #57689, and is a graduate of the community leadership program, LEAD San Diego. Other service as director includes HOPE International, Christian Executive Officers, YMCA, and the Leadership Denver Association.
