As parents, teachers, or caregivers, you’ve encountered the inevitable bumps and scrapes – whether it’s a fall while jumping rope or a paper cut from crafting a snowflake. A simple band-aid, especially one decorated with Elsa from Frozen, can quickly dry tears, offer comfort, and prevent infections. But for the 600 children at Saint Maria Gorretti Nursery and Primary School in Uganda, even this simple luxury can be out of reach.
Recently, Father Peter from Saint Maria Gorretti School visited Project C.U.R.E.’s Chicago warehouse before returning to his community in Kyojjomanyi, Uganda. He explored the warehouse with a clinic under construction back home, admiring and envisioning how the lifesaving equipment, like incubators, could soon transform healthcare back home. Before his departure, we packed him a large duffle bag filled with essential medical supplies to support the school and its growing needs.
Donation of Medical Supplies to Uganda
When Father Peter arrived with the supplies, the children eagerly pitched in to unpack and organize the new goodies. Their excitement was contagious, and the headmistress shared her gratitude. “We don’t have photos of bandaged knees just yet…” they reported back to Project C.U.R.E. The supplies, however, represent a significant step toward better health and care for these children. T.H.R.I.V.E. Foundation also included books for the children.
Through the efforts of people like Father Peter, the support of the T.H.R.I.V.E. Foundation, and the dedication of our volunteers, Project C.U.R.E. continues to deliver health & hope worldwide.
Where you live shouldn’t determine whether you live. Thanks to this delivery, the children at Saint Maria Gorretti Nursery and Primary School are beginning to experience this truth firsthand.
