C.U.R.E. Cares Container Support Trips
Project C.U.R.E., the global leader in providing donated medical equipment and supplies, is seeking biomedical technicians and engineers to volunteer with us to provide technical assistance in the installation of our donated medical equipment provided to healthcare facilities located overseas.
Annually, Project C.U.R.E. delivers more than 180 cargo containers with a value of more than $60 million of donated medical equipment and supplies to under-resourced healthcare facilities in 50+ countries. Many of these facilities require assistance with the installation and operation of these donations.
The Work
Volunteer biomed technicians and engineers will conduct some or all of the following activities:
- Proper installation and operation of Project C.U.R.E. equipment
- Testing of Project C.U.R.E. equipment to ensure that it is working as intended Mentorship of local technicians on installation and technical orientation Orientation of local staff on proper operation of Project C.U.R.E. equipment
The Reward
Our volunteer biomed technicians and engineers’ support will ensure that the equipment is installed correctly and thus minimize accidental breakage and improper use, significantly increasing its proper utilization and improving the sustainability of our donations.
The Trips
It is expected that each Container Delivery Support Program trip is staffed by two volunteer biomed technicians and/or engineers who will travel together and provide support to several facilities during the trip. We recognize that many of our participants are working professionals, and as a result, we try to keep our trips to approximately five to seven days. If you have the flexibility to travel on your own after a trip, you are welcome to do so!
Project C.U.R.E.’s Container Delivery Support Program is a key activity designed to support our cargo container deliveries of this equipment. Specifically, it offers installation and operation support to healthcare facilities that have received our equipment donations.
The Cost
With the exception of any recommended vaccinations, affiliated international trip costs are covered by Project C.U.R.E.
