About the Trip

Join Project C.U.R.E. as we partner with various stakeholders for our C.U.R.E. Clinic together in Belize! While working with Project C.U.R.E. you will have the opportunity to participate in a combination of clinics and patient education to surrounding the surrounding areas. Join us for this C.U.R.E. Clinic as we start the new year in service together!  The Team Leader for this trip is Dr. Barbara Morris.

About the Country

Located in Central America, Belize is bordered to the North by Mexico, South and West by Guatemala and to the East by the Caribbean Sea.  Belize is an extremely diverse country with the lowest population density in Central America with 35 people per square mile.  Belize is 176 miles long and 88 miles wide, covering 8,867 square miles of offshore islands consisting of lush tropical rainforest and white sand islands.  Belize is also home to a 174-mile long barrier reef.  The English speaking people of Belize are committed to preserving the unique charm and welcoming visitors with open arms.  

About the Program Cost

Your tax-deductible donation to participate on a Project C.U.R.E. Clinics Trip to Belize is $2,199. This program cost covers all accommodations, meals, clean water, and transportation once in-country, including internal airfare, buses/cars/taxies, fuel costs, drivers, tips, and boats/ferries (when applicable). Program costs also include the coverage of translators, medications, C.U.R.E. Kits, Kits for Kids, travel and evacuation insurance, Safe Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) with the State Department, medical license transfer procedures, departure travel packet with Project C.U.R.E. t-shirt and scrub set, and all associated shipping costs. Additionally, tour guides and small touristic excursions and activities are included. Please note visa fees, alcohol, internet access, laundry, and personal souvenirs are not covered in the program cost.

You will have the opportunity to arrange your own international airfare to and from Belize. The suggested flight itinerary will be posted as we near our departure date.

Sample Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Your excursion begins as you depart in the morning on a flight to Belize City. Arrive in Belize Saturday evening and spend your first night in Belize City. 

Day 2: Depart Belize City in the morning and travel to the C.U.R.E. Clinics site. Spend Sunday afternoon unpacking and sorting the medical equipment you have brought, and prepare for a hard day of work in the clinic on Monday. 

Day 3: Give back to the local community by providing primary medical care on your first clinic day in the country. Be part of the first Project C.U.R.E. team to visit this Belizean clinic.

Day 4: Enjoy another working day providing both health and hope to the Belizean people.

Day 5: Today is your third day on the hospital grounds!  You are making a lasting impact on local families.

Day 6: It’s the final day of clinics.  You are working hard providing shoulder to shoulder care with your partners.  Enjoy the final day with your new friends!

Day 7: This day will be spent on a sight-seeing excursion. Enjoy the day of rest and relaxation after a long week of service!

Day 8: Return to Belize City to begin the short journey home.
