In 2024, our volunteers dedicated 177,252 hours volunteering across our seven warehouses. To put this outstanding number into perspective, it would take one person working nonstop, 24 hours a day, for nearly 20 years to match their collective effort.
In 1987, Project C.U.R.E. began with one single person collecting and shipping supplies from his garage. Today, thanks to the unwavering commitment of our volunteers–who have become our team, our family, and the backbone of our mission–we’ve achieved an impact far greater than we ever could have imagined.
Our warehouses are always buzzing with activity, whether individuals or teams, on a Sunday morning or a Tuesday evening. Packing each container is a process of sorting incoming supplies, filling boxes based on the assessment, and loading with precision. This undertaking often involves Tetris-like thinking and plenty of shared laughter.
In December in Denver, our regular crew typically arrives in the late morning. The team waits for the sun to warm the containers where they’ll spend their day moving in and out. Meanwhile, summer in Phoenix is quite different. By the afternoon, the warehouse is quiet because the volunteers have already finished their day’s work. Volunteers start as early as 5 a.m. to beat the day’s heat, with nothing but positivity. All take comfort in knowing they’re the last to touch an incubator that will soon save a newborn’s life.
Reflecting on the past year cherishes milestones while honoring the dedication of our volunteers. Between our work in Ukraine, Malawi, Ethiopia, and many more, we continue to take moments to acknowledge those who gave their time and energy to ensure the success of these shipments. Project C.U.R.E. is here as your vessel to serve good to a world that needs health & hope now more than ever.
