The first step in measuring our effectiveness is conducting an on-site Needs Assessment study. The Needs Assessment is conducted before shipping a Cargo container to the hospital or clinic.
Our Needs Assessment is a foundational starting point, and is conducted by a representative from Project C.U.R.E. who travels to the recipient facility to meet with administrators, physicians, nurses and other medical practitioners to determine the specific needs of the hospital or clinic. The findings from the Needs Assessment are used to establish a baseline for measurement, and guide Project C.U.R.E. in planning the Cargo delivery and potential C.U.R.E. Clinic or College programs.
The second step in the measurement process is the completion of an Impact Evaluation Survey. Approximately six months following a Cargo container delivery, the hospital or clinic completes an Impact Evaluation Survey.
The questions are designed to measure how the arrival of the Cargo container improved the function of the hospital and the health outcomes to the patient. Surveys are tallied and analyzed to determine both shortfalls and best practices.
For larger, multi-container deliveries, Project C.U.R.E. conducts an on-site Outcomes Assessment. Similar to a Needs Assessment, the Outcomes Assessment is conducted by a Project C.U.R.E. representative traveling to the recipient hospital or clinics to conduct interviews, take photos and gather data following the arrival of C.U.R.E. Cargo containers.
Likewise, during both C.U.R.E. Clinic and College programs, data is collected on each patient diagnosed and treated, as well as outcomes over time, as available.
Project C.U.R.E. makes a difference by providing critical resources to healthcare providers who face incredible obstacles in the mission to care for their patients. Poverty continues to plague much of the world. The lack of resources disproportionately impacts women, particularly at childbirth. Disasters, war and violence add to a tragically difficult environment. Project C.U.R.E. intervenes in these situations by donating medical aid, assistance and training.
There are numerous ways to get involved with Project C.U.R.E. You can donate medical supplies and equipment, volunteer in one of our seven warehouses across the United States, deliver C.U.R.E. Kits when traveling abroad, pack Kits for Kids with your civic group, school, or co-workers, attend one of our events, or travel with us on a C.U.R.E. Clinics trip.
