The Red Rocks Church Park Meadows, Colorado, branch recently held a Kits for Kids packing event with Project C.U.R.E. This event was part of their annual Love Our City Ministry. Red Rocks Church's mission is to love others through service — so this packing event was the perfect way to put that mission into action!
Church volunteers helped pack 400 Kits for Kids on June 13. They wrote a thoughtful message for each kit recipient and then filled the kit with 13 first aid and hygiene items. These common, everyday contents have a big impact on families without access to these essential supplies. Thank you to Red Rocks Church and all the volunteers who helped fill 400 kits that will support families around the world.
During the Kits for Kids We Shop Hosted Packing, Red Rocks Church volunteers also created signs to accompany Project C.U.R.E. cargo containers. Therefore, the first thing healthcare providers will see upon opening their semi-truck-sized container filled with vital supplies and equipment is a message of hope from their partners around the world. Creating these signs is not only an opportunity to be creative, but also a chance to deliver hope to those in other countries that we otherwise would never meet. The Red Rocks Church volunteers created four signs, communicating thoughtfulness and care, that will be included with future cargo containers.

Kits for Kids supplies include resources such as tweezers, band aids, antiseptic topical creams, and dental products. These items place first aid supplies directly in the hands of caregivers who normally lack such access. The World Health Organization says childhood injury is a major public health problem and focus on a global level is needed to ensure healthy childhood growth and environment.
Kits for Kids packed by the Red Rocks Church volunteer team will support global health initiatives around dental hygiene and standard wound care. Supplies in each Kits for Kids bag help kids stay in school, empower families to support their health, and stop wounds from worsening.
Did you know? According to sample testing done in 2019, children miss one to six days of school each year due to concerns with their oral health. Building healthy habits with oral health improves school attendance and performance. Oral health also helps with overall childhood development.
