GHANA

Travel with Our C.U.R.E. Clinic Team to Ghana

Located in west‑central Ghana, the Ahafo Region is home to vibrant communities and underserved populations. From Friday, August 28 to Sunday, September 6, Project C.U.R.E. will deploy a dedicated team of medical and non‑medical volunteers to support community health efforts in the Ahafo Region through a mobile clinic model, in partnership with Newmont Mining.

This clinic deployment is part of a long‑standing collaboration between Project C.U.R.E. and Newmont Mining, focused on strengthening healthcare delivery and access across the Ahafo Region. Each clinic day, the team will travel to partner local healthcare facilities, working side‑by‑side with Ghanaian healthcare providers to expand the facilities’ capacity to serve a higher volume of patients, while reinforcing trust in the local health system.

Our Clinic Model

Project C.U.R.E. Clinics are designed to support and extend existing local healthcare services—not replace them. Clinics are embedded within and anchored to local facilities to ensure care is appropriate, respectful, and sustainable.

Project C.U.R.E. Clinics aim to:

  • Provide high‑quality, short‑term episodic care
  • Support the catchment populations of partner health facilities
  • Strengthen community trust in local healthcare systems
  • Facilitate mutual knowledge exchange between visiting and local providers

Clinical Focus

C.U.R.E. Clinics provide short‑term, episodic primary care, with an emphasis on:

  • Conditions that can be safely evaluated and treated in a single visit
  • Interventions with immediate benefit and low risk of harm without follow‑up
  • Care that can be continued or escalated within the local health system

The overall focus of the Ghana Clinic is to support existing health system efforts while extending services to reach broader segments of the surrounding communities.
